Matilda Villas is located right by the sea in the idyllic ironworks village of Mathildedal, which has become one of Finland's most popular travel destinations. The 18 modernly equipped cottages offer the perfect environment for relaxation all year round - whether you are on holiday, working remotely or celebrating important moments. Each cottage has a spacious living area, fireplace, private sauna and high-quality Finnish beds, so you can enjoy a break from everyday life in a historic setting.
Villa Kukka
Villa Kukka is a spacious (120 m²) and high-quality holiday home near the sea. The cottage has three bedrooms with six regular beds and two extra beds on the sofas in the living rooms. You have your own sauna, a balcony with a gas grill and a small yard with a sea view. Pets are welcome, and in the summer the nearby beach offers easy access to the sea.
Villa Taimi
The cozy and well-equipped Taimi cottage (83 m2) offers its own sauna, fireplace and beautiful nature views. The cottage has two bedrooms with beds for four, a spacious living room with open kitchen and a sofa bed for additional accommodation. The cottage village also has travel cots for children and some of the cottages allow you to bring your pet. The facilities and equipment are also ideal for longer stays.

The pearl of the cottage area is its own, private beach, which awaits you with its sandy shores under the slope. In the yard of the area you will find a playground with swings for the youngest members of the family, which also has an atmospheric hut for shared moments. The summer chicken coop located in the cottage area is an absolute favorite of children and offers fun things to watch for the youngest members of the family. During the summer season, Matilda Villas offers free bicycles to guests. Pets are very welcome, but we also offer allergy cottages for those who need them.
The holiday cottage was very beautifully decorated. There was a wonderful sauna and shower room.
In addition, the holiday cottage had air conditioning!
Access to the water was well-executed: a sandy beach, seating areas, a pier, rowing boats and even a water trampoline – great especially for children.

Cozy, clean cottage in a high location. Good mattresses in the bed. A short bike ride to the lake and the Strömma Canal through the forest. A rare starry sky at night for a city dweller. Taking a dip in the sea with the help of the sauna. Going mushroom picking again in the fall!

The cottage village is perfect for weddings, family celebrations, anniversaries, and corporate summer parties and events. With the entire area reserved just for your group, you can celebrate and enjoy yourself in peace and quiet, amidst the beautiful nature of the archipelago.
It is possible to organize parties, weddings, or even an atmospheric open fire dinner on the beach, and smaller activities and program numbers can be successfully held in the cottage yards. The carefully designed complex, functional facilities, and natural surroundings create the framework for a successful event.

Matilda Villas underwent a change of ownership in 2023 and reopened in the spring of 2024 after extensive renovations. The goal has been to create an even more comfortable and safer cottage village where vacationing feels high-quality all year round.
The renovations are visible in the cottages and throughout the area: the beds, sofas, textiles, dishes and other equipment in the cottages have been renewed, the environment has been developed to be more functional and services have been diversified. The area now includes, among other things, an electric car charging station, new barbecue areas and a cozy beach with sun loungers and activities. Boats and bicycles are available to guests free of charge.
The renovations have been largely carried out by local forces, and cooperation with local entrepreneurs is an important part of Matilda Villas' operations. We want to be an active part of Mathildedal's vibrant village community.
Tuukka
Tuukka is one of the owners of Matilda Villas. Mathildedal has been an important place for him since childhood, and he has strong roots in the area. He also has his own cottage in the village.
Tuukka steers Matilda Villas while cherishing the spirit of the place, and the desire to preserve the area's unique atmosphere is a key starting point for the development of the cottage village in the future.
Victoria
Victoria is the village manager at Matilda Villas and the heart of the place, making sure everything is in order before arrival, during your stay and after.
Victoria has lived in different parts of the world, but the Mathildedal region has always been an important home environment. The family cottage in Teijo has been like a childhood home for Victoria, and now she has returned to the villages, bringing her small child with her to grow up in this natural and important environment.
Anu
Anu spent her childhood summers in Mathildedal, in the landscape of Klinikankulma. The area has many fond childhood memories, and the desire to offer similar experiences to others is evident in the way Matilda Villas' story and communication are structured.
Anu is responsible for Matilda Villas' marketing, communications, development projects, and system maintenance.
