A holiday at Matilda Villas is as active or peaceful as you want. You can relax in the cottage by the fireplace doing nothing or enjoy the cottage village's own activities. You can swim on our own beach almost all year round, and in the summer there is a beach punttis, a water trampoline and a campfire site. The beach is located at the bottom of the hill, and is accessed by stairs.
In addition, the surrounding area offers plenty to do: in the Mathildedal and Teijo areas you can find golf, skiing, tennis, paddle and mini golf opportunities, as well as the wonderful outdoor terrain of Teijo National Park. The village also has its own brewery and roastery, as well as several good restaurants.
Well-equipped and high-quality cottages
Matilda Villas' cottages invite you to enjoy your stay all year round. You can choose from two-bedroom or three-bedroom cottages, and there is also additional sleeping space in the living rooms with sofas. Each cottage has bedrooms equipped with high-quality, Finnish Familon brand beds, a living room, a functional open kitchen and dining area, a fireplace, toilet, shower rooms and a private sauna.
Each cottage has a washing machine and drying room, making even a longer stay effortless. The cottages have a smart TV, which you can log into with your own streaming services, and wifi that works on the house. We have a cozy setting for recharging and nice evenings together.

Pets are welcome to join you on vacation
Matilda Villas is a pet-friendly destination, and pets are welcome in almost all of our cottages. Four of the 83 m² cottages are reserved for allergy sufferers, and pets are not allowed in these cottages, even for a visit. There is also a separate swimming area for pets on our beach.
Things to do for children
The Matilda Villas cottage village also offers plenty to do for families with children. The area has its own playground with swings, a sandbox and a climbing frame, and the hut right next door invites you to roast sausages and marshmallows by the campfire.
It is easy to go on short forest trips from the cottages' backyards. You can snack on blueberries and lingonberries straight from the forest.
You can swim or build sandcastles on our own beach, and for older children there is a water trampoline available in the summer.
In the summer, our cottage village has its own chicken coop, and it's fun to stop by and watch the cute chickens with the whole family.

We also went for a dip in the sea, which was about 100 meters away. We also got a nice stair workout on the way back to the cottage from swimming 😊 You can easily walk from the cottage to the restaurants in Mathilda village or to the Mathilda Lake hiking tour."

The beach at Matilda Villas is perfect for various celebrations, such as romantic picnics, evening bonfires with friends, or even larger celebrations.
The beach is located just enough away from the cottage village, creating a peaceful and private setting. Our beach has hosted 50th birthday parties, among other events, and is also ideal for weddings.

Matilda Villas underwent a change of ownership in 2023 and reopened in the spring of 2024 after extensive renovations. The goal has been to create an even more comfortable and safer cottage village where vacationing feels high-quality all year round.
The renovations are visible in the cottages and throughout the area: the beds, sofas, textiles, dishes and other equipment in the cottages have been renewed, the environment has been developed to be more functional and services have been diversified. The area now includes, among other things, an electric car charging station, new barbecue areas and a cozy beach with sun loungers and activities. Boats and bicycles are available to guests free of charge.
The renovations have been largely carried out by local forces, and cooperation with local entrepreneurs is an important part of Matilda Villas' operations. We want to be an active part of Mathildedal's vibrant village community.
Tuukka
Tuukka is one of the owners of Matilda Villas. Mathildedal has been an important place for him since childhood, and he has strong roots in the area. He also has his own cottage in the village.
Tuukka steers Matilda Villas while cherishing the spirit of the place, and the desire to preserve the area's unique atmosphere is a key starting point for the development of the cottage village in the future.
Victoria
Victoria is the village manager at Matilda Villas and the heart of the place, making sure everything is in order before arrival, during your stay and after.
Victoria has lived in different parts of the world, but the Mathildedal region has always been an important home environment. The family cottage in Teijo has been like a childhood home for Victoria, and now she has returned to the villages, bringing her small child with her to grow up in this natural and important environment.
Anu
Anu spent her childhood summers in Mathildedal, in the landscape of Klinikankulma. The area has many fond childhood memories, and the desire to offer similar experiences to others is evident in the way Matilda Villas' story and communication are structured.
Anu is responsible for Matilda Villas' marketing, communications, development projects, and system maintenance.

Matilda Villas is located right by the sea in the idyllic old ironworks village of Mathildedal.
The complex includes 18 cottages and several shared activities, such as a private beach, hut, playground and summer chicken coop. The cottage village also has its own electric car charging point.
The Mathildedal ironworks village is located just under 30 kilometers from Salo, about 80 kilometers from Turku and about 140 kilometers from Helsinki, and we are easy to reach by car, public transport or your own boat.
Mathildedal's services and restaurants are easily accessible with free bicycles available to guests. Matilda Villas is also ideal for organizing parties, corporate events, recreation days, and remote working.
